My Top 5 Best NBA Players of the 2012-2013 season

This list of the five best NBA players of 2012-2013 season will be compiled of two statistics, Points Per Game(PPG), Player Efficiency Rating(PER), as well as there chances of winning MVP for the season. Points per game is simply the number of points that player scored in a single game. Player Efficiency Rating is determined by combining all the official statistics kept by the NBA, inluding positive stats such as field goals made and assists, as well as negative statistics, such as turnovers.

1.) LeBron James

LeBron James is universally known as the best player in the NBA. He's one four MVP awards, two NBA Finals MVP awards, two NBA Finals trophies and nine NBA All Star selections. Lebron averaged 26.8 points a game last season on 56.5 field goal percentage which was the highest of his 10 year career. He was also #1 in player efficiency rating among all players with a 31.6 rating. As far as his name being discussed for the leauge MVP ....... he won it.

2.) Kevin Durant

KD is known as a tremendous player and a freakeshly efficient scorer, but always falls to #2 behind Lebron. KD has won three scoring titles in the last four years and was the youngest to ever win a scoring title at age 21. This year he scored 28.1 PPG, which was higher than every other player in the leauge besides Carmelo Anthony. He's had four NBA All Star selections, four NBA All Team selections, one NBA Finals apperance, but has finished second in the votes for MVP for the better part of his career.

3.) Chris Paul

CP3 is often referred to as the best point guard in the game. He does everything you need him to do as a 6'0 tall point guard. If you need him to score, he will score. He averaged
16.9 points last season. If you need him to pass, he will pass. He averaged 9.8 assists last season, which was the second highest in the leauge. He will even defend the ball. He averaged 2.4 steals a game last year which lead the league. Chris Paul's name was in the MVP discussions utnil his team hit a few rough spots on thier way to the playoffs.

 4.) Tim Duncan

Tim is probably the most efficient big man in the league right now and has been for many years. Even last season, at age 37, he was still putting up big numbers. 17.8 PPG on 50% shooting from the field. He shoot a career high 81.7% from the free throw line last year and he even averaged 2.7 blocks a game which was third highest in among all players. Even though his teammate Tony Parker recieved most of the praise for the teams success last year and most of the favor for MVP, I could easily agrue that the Spurs would nto have had nearly the same success without the great Tim Duncan.

5.) Kobe Bryant

Last but not least, The Black Mamba. I don't have to go over his accomplishments with you. He only has five rings, 14 NBA All Star selections, two Finals MVP awards. Kobe's resume speaks for itself, but many people questioned at the beginning of last season whether or not father time would finally catch up to Kobe. Well he silenced the doubters when he averaged 27.3 PPG at age 34. He had a player efficiency rating of 23.0. Kobe was also second in the leauge in minutes per game with 38.6, which some say led to his season ending injury. Kobe led his Lakers team to the playoffs almost single handed with an injured Dwight Howard and a diminshing Pau Gasol.
